Some of Louis Comfort Tiffany's first designs in leaded glass were for windows; his early firms, including Tiffany Glass & Decorating Company, produced hundreds of decorative and figural windows for specific public and private commissions throughout the 1880s and 1890s.

The Eccclesiastic Department at Tiffany Studios continued to produce Tiffany Windows throughout the 20th century. Leaded glass compositions in Tiffany's innovative glass were frequently commissioned for private homes, churches, memorials and more.
