The angular limbs and taut pose of the reclining nude figure in this bronze sculpture by Robert Laurent, dating from 1950, set it apart from his earlier sculptures of similar subject matter which tended towards softer curves and rounded forms.
The sculpture is inscribed near the base with the artist's signature.
