Tiffany Studios produced a line of geometric leaded glass shades to appeal to customers who wanted a TIffany Lamp with a perhaps more restrained pattern or color palette.
The Acorn series became one of the most popular; a domed shade formed by gridded glass is bisected near the lower rim by a horizontal frieze of meandering leaves. In this example, the background is formed by a grid of rectangular pieces if Tiffany glass in a buttery yellow color with heavy mottling. The acorns, or leaves, of the horizontal decorative band are articulated in mottled Tiffany glass in a contrasting shade of green.
Both the shade and original bronze base of this Tiffany lamp are signed.
